چکیده

Early blight disease of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) caused by Alternaria solani (Ellis and Martin), is one the most important fungal throughout growing areas. Field experiments were conducted during winter (rabi) season, 2018–19 2019–20 at Vegetable Research Centre, Govind Ballabh Pant University Agriculture Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand for evaluating fungicides against early potato. All (mancozeb, hexaconazole, difenoconazole chlorothalonil) evaluated in vitro using poison food technique as well field conditions. In study revealed that chlorothalonil 75% wp gave best results showed 18.0 mm, 17.67 16.33 12.33 mm 8.33 mycelial growth @25 ppm, 50 100 150 ppm 200 concentration 7 days after inoculation. condition, WP @0.2% applied foliar sprays 10 interval resulted lowest severity i.e. 22.50% with highest tuber yield (317.90 q/ha). The findings regarding economics cultivation clearly treatment benefit cost ratio 2.96. may be controlled applying a 0.25 three times 10-day interval, which increased production provided extra benefits to farmers.

Effect of Some Essential Oils for Limiting Early Blight (alternaria Solani) Development in Potato Field

The fungicidal effect of some essential oils against Alternaria solani one of the species that cause early blight of potato was evaluated under in vitro and field conditions. Effect of carnation, caraway, thyme oils and the chemical fungicide Ridomil MZ 72 at various concentrations on mycelial growth of A. solani was tested. Carnation oil had the strongest and most extensive inhibitory effect o...

Rewiring mitogen-activated protein kinase cascade by positive feedback confers potato blight resistance.

Late blight, caused by the notorious pathogen Phytophthora infestans, is a devastating disease of potato (Solanum tuberosum) and tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), and during the 1840s caused the Irish potato famine and over one million fatalities. Currently, grown potato cultivars lack adequate blight tolerance. Earlier cultivars bred for resistance used disease resistance genes that confer immuni...
